STEFAN ST. LOUIS NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK

John Sosa Also Recognized on Team of the Week

INDEPENDENCE, MO (December 3, 2013) – The Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Tuesday that Missouri Comets forward Stefan St. Louis has been named the MISL Player of the Week for the third week of the 2013-14 regular season. St. Louis scored the overtime game-winner for the Comets as they took a 12-10 victory against the St. Louis Ambush Friday night. St-LouisAfter undergoing knee surgery which brought his 2012-13 season to a premature end, St. Louis’ first goal back for the Comets proved to be decisive after the Ambush had rallied to send the game to overtime. His low shot found the bottom-right corner of the net, earning Missouri its second win of the young season. Joining St. Louis on the MISL Team of the Week is his teammate John Sosa, who recorded an assist for the Comets, and helped limit the Ambush to only 14 shots on goal in the contest. Sosa is joined in defense by the Pennsylvania Roar’s Corey Maret, who had a pair of goals as his side fell just short in a 10-9 defeat against Syracuse. The Silver Knights have two selections on the Team of the Week, with goalkeeper Bryan O’Quinn being selected after recording 12 saves in his side’s one-point win against the Roar. Forward Slavisa Ubiparipovic earns his second selection of the season after scoring twice in the win. The team is completed by the St. Louis Ambush’s Odaine Sinclair, who had a pair of goals as his side rallied to force overtime against the Comets.
